Why Does the Stronger Team Still Lose in OSM?

Having the better squad does not guarantee the better match. Structure, morale, fitness, risk level, and preparation often explain results better than raw ratings alone.

Ratings create a ceiling, not an automatic result
A stronger squad gives you margin, but not immunity. If the team is set up to play a match it cannot actually control, the rating advantage matters less than people expect.

Small weaknesses become bigger against organized opponents
A stronger team can still lose when the lines disconnect, when the midfield loses control of transitions, or when the risk level is too high for the players on the pitch. Those issues do not look dramatic in menus, but they show up in match flow.

Results feel random when the review process is weak
After a loss, it is tempting to assume the game simply ignored the better team. Sometimes variance exists, but most of the time there were warning signs before the match. Poor condition, morale dips, overexposed lines, or unnecessary tactical shifts usually leave clues.
