Scout for the tactic, not the rating
The overall number sells players; the fit wins matches. A wing-play side needs wide forwards and crossing full-backs; a counter side needs pace up front and a keeper who starts attacks. Before opening the scout, write down the two positions your tactic actually stresses.
The stats that matter per line
- Forwards: attack rating first, and age if you plan to resell.
- Midfielders: the balance of attack and defense decides whether they fit a box-to-box or holding role.
- Defenders and keepers: defense rating, then squad depth - suspensions find thin squads.
Age is a price multiplier
Young players appreciate as they train; players past their peak decay in value even as they perform. Buying a 21-year-old slightly below your needs and training him up routinely beats paying full price for a 29-year-old star you can never resell.
Our Price Estimator applies the same age-and-rating math the transfer market does, so you can sanity-check any asking price in seconds - and the Scout's shortlist keeps your targets one tap away.
